Duration : All year round, 15 study days.
Training registration information: Registration on site or electronically.
Target group and conditions for starting studies: Adults (from the age of 18) who have so requested will be admitted to the training of a welder on the basis of an application. All applicants who are at least 18 years old and who meet the requirements for starting studies and pass an on-site test will be admitted to study. The test tests make sure that the person who has started their studies has understood what the discipline is and whether he or she is able to perform the given tasks.
Placement in groups : The division of students into groups takes into account the level of existing knowledge and spoken language.
Total study volume (academic hours) :
120 academic hours, of which:
- 10 ac.h. is a theory that is conducted in a classroom
- 106 ac.h. is an internship conducted in a school welding workshop
- 4 ac.h. is professional advice in preparation for the exam.
Teaching methods : Theoretical lectures. Practice training in an individual welding place consists of performing various tasks of an instructor.
Independent work: Processing of materials obtained during theory lectures (20 ac.h), independent work is not included in the study volume (120 ac.h).
Online learning : None. It is possible to apply the theory to a part if contact teaching is not allowed.
Aim of the study : At the end of the course, the welder butt welds 2 pipes in positions H-L045, MMA 111 method according to WPS.

Description of the learning environment: Both the theoretical and practical parts take place at Pae 29, Tallinn. Safety and health requirements are guaranteed in the theory auditorium and workshop. We have 4 classrooms to study the theory, depending on the subject being taught, each class can accommodate 30+ people. The theoretical part is issued at home to record knowledge electronically (on memory sticks). We also issue both personal protection and tools for practical training.
List of study materials: DVS study materials. T. Karaganova “Welding idea”
and A. Laansoo “Welding”.
Requirements for graduation, including assessment methods and evaluation criteria:
Participation in at least 80% of theory and practice classes is a prerequisite for graduation. In addition, a theoretical final test must be performed and the part welded in accordance with WPS according to the evaluation criteria.
Evaluation method: Theory tests and butt welding of two pipes by MMA 111 method,
position H-L045.
Formation of the final result:
Evaluated:
Knowledge and use of professional terminology, successful completion of the practical part of the planned study. Performing a theoretical exam test and performing a practical task using the welding method MMA 111 butt welding of the pipe in position H-L045 according to WPS.
Evaluation criteria: At least 60% of the correct answers to 20 questions. Welds by MMA 111 method in position H-L045 according to WPS.
Documents to be issued: If all the conditions set out in the assessment criteria are met, the school will be issued a certificate of successful completion of the curriculum.
