Total study volume (academic hours) :
160 academic hours, of which:
- 20 ac.h. is a theory that is conducted in a classroom,
- 136 ac.h. is an internship carried out in a school welding workshop,
- 4 ac.h. is professional advice in preparation for the exam.
Teaching methods : Theoretical lectures. Practice training in an individual welding place consists of performing various tasks of an instructor.
Independent work: Processing of materials obtained during theory lectures (30 ac.h), independent work is not included in the study volume (160 ac.h).
Online learning : None. It is possible to apply the theory to a part if contact teaching is not allowed.

Description of the learning environment: Both the theoretical and practical parts take place at Pae 29, Tallinn. Safety and health requirements are guaranteed in the theory auditorium and workshop. We have 4 classrooms for learning the theory, depending on the subject being taught, each class can accommodate 30+ people. The theoretical part is issued at home to record knowledge electronically (on memory sticks). We also issue both personal protection and tools for practical training.
List of study materials: DVS study materials. T. Karaganova “Welding idea”
and A. Laansoo “Welding”.
Requirements for graduation, including assessment methods and evaluation criteria:
Participation in at least 80% of theory and practice classes is a prerequisite for graduation. In addition, a theoretical final test must be performed and the part welded in accordance with WPS according to the evaluation criteria.
Evaluation method: Theory tests and butt welding of two pipes by TIG 141 method,
Formation of the final result:
Knowledge and use of professional terminology, successful completion of the practical part of the planned study. Performing a theoretical exam test and performing a practical task using the welding method TIG 141 butt welding of the pipe in position H-L045 according to WPS.
At least 60% of the correct answers to 20 questions. Welds by the TIG 141 method in position H-L045
According to WPS.
Documents to be issued: If all the conditions set out in the assessment criteria are met, the school will be issued a certificate of successful completion of the curriculum. If the goal is not achieved but the student attends at least 80% of the hours, he / she will be issued with a certificate of participation in the course. If desired, the student can pass a professional exam according to EN ISO 9606-1 after successful completion of the curriculum.
Short description of the content: The course is intended for workers in the metal industry who are exposed in their daily work and need high-quality and precise welding work. The course is aimed at acquiring professional theoretical and practical knowledge. After completing the course, the student is able to apply the acquired knowledge, namely to weld various materials and details in connection with the performance of their daily tasks using tools and welding equipment. A student who has passed the course and passed the final exam is ready to work or do an internship.
